“DAY”
Used for – “DAY” function in MS Excel is
used to find the day which belongs to any number in between 1 and 2958465 or
you can say it separates out day out of date. As it picks up day out of date or
serial number it always results in between 1 to 31 as maximum day in a month is
31.
Syntax – DAY(serial_number)
serial_number – It is any number/date/reference cell (only if it contain a number or date), you typed or calculated for which you needs to find the day. It is compulsory field without which formula results in #N/A error.

Here
Cell B1, B2 & B3 are showing the result of DAY function when it is used for
find out three different values.
Note:-It does not work beyond the value of 2958465
because the limitation of no of days in between 01-01-1900 to 31-12-9999. As soon
as only it the number cross the value 2958465 the excel understands that it
cross the date 31-12-9999 and gives the #NUM! error. So always note that
whenever you want to use this function take care the value should not increase
beyond 2958465 or the date should not exceeds from 31-12-9999.
